How many days was West Princes Street Gardens not fully available to the public in 2019, free-of-charge?

Brian Ferguson challenged “if it is wise” for us – as the most local tier of elected representation for West Princes Street Gardens – “to suggest that the City of Edinburgh Council closes West Princes Street Gardens to the public for 10 weeks during the year to accommodate events”.  Brian’s interpretation is slightly different to what we tweeted.

Meanwhile the City of Edinburgh Council says the Gardens are not available to the public, for just 80 hours a year.

We thank Brian for his challenge and will provide our evidence on this page over the next few weeks.
