Hustings : 1st May 2017
With the local City of Edinburgh Council elections taking place on May 4th, Old Town Community Council organised a political Hustings on 1st May 2017.
The purpose was to give Old Town residents an opportunity :
- to meet prospective candidates from all six parties and
- to raise the issues that matter to local residents
More than 150 residents and friends attended and put their questions to the panel, made up of :
- Karen Doran, Scottish Labour Party
- Claire Miller, Scottish Green Party
- Jo Mowat, Scottish Conservative and Unionist
- Alastair Rankin, Scottish National Party (SNP)
- Tam Laird (representing Peter Sidor), Scottish Libertarian Party
- David Stevens, Scottish Liberal Democrats
